The reason pretty much any Japanese motorcycle is superior to a Harley is because most Japanese motorcycles have a short stroke less piston velocity and the ability to rev higher overhead camshafts water cooling and are generally just built to tighter tolerances. I would say that Japanese bikes are more disposable than Harleys but I dont like that word very much. These bikes were not only faster and more powerful than Harleys were.

The Japanese motorcycles have proven time and time again to be the better bike. When it comes to performance Harleys tend to have an edge over the Hondas. Five years is a long time to an item or machine that follows the technology curve.

I cant stand Harleys I hate the stupid noise they all seem to make by far the loudest bikes in London and totally anti-social as a consequence.

Touring bikes being designed for comfort in long-distance travel are likely to be outfitted with more bells and whistles than a standard motorcycle -- and therefore have more accessories on. Metric cruisers cost less They may not demand the prices that Harleys do but therein lies another distinct advantage. Sure Harleys can be made to perform but you have to rebuild them from the ground up and by the time that you get any decent performance out of a Harley you could have bought two or three Japanese bikes for cash.
